Applying to University
We offer one to one advice to students about their university application. Given the huge range of degree courses on offer at a wide range of universities, applications can be rather hit or miss without personal guidance. Many students simply don’t know what is involved in Social Policy or Anthropology, for example. Many have no idea what to expect of a Law degree or of the very different approaches to the curriculum at medical schools. A personal consultation involves a review of academic achievements, extra curricular interests and long term career aims. We also discuss the type of university and whether the student would be better suited to a degree course which involves a greater proportion of continuous assessment than exams. We give advice to students on their personal statements and help them choose courses where there is a good chance they will be made an offer. For those applying for Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science, or Oxford or Cambridge, we offer support with the application and mock interview practice with one of our highly experienced consultants. For those applying to Art School or Drama School, we are able to bring in highly experienced professionals to review portfolios, or work with students on their audition pieces. For international students applying to university who are not attending a school in the U.K., we are happy to manage the whole application process. We can also advise U.K. students who wish to go to university in the United States or elsewhere in Europe where increasing numbers of universities are now offering first degrees taught in English.
